Small Appliances

Beside major appliances, there is another appliances which also useful in our daily life. Maybe they are looks small, but their function is not that simple. Yes, they are small appliances. Small appliances refer to all of the appliances that usually used in the top of table and any other places. They are also intended to be portable, which make them different from the large sized major appliances.

There are so many electronics that can be considered as these small appliances. But all of the entertainment electronics such as TV, radio, cassette player or even mp3 player are not included as the part of small appliances. Small appliances are only refers to electronics which directly help us to do our daily job, in any ranges.

In Britain, small appliances also named as brown appliances. The reason is because they were wooden made or looked like wood. Even now things have changed, but the name still stuck.

These appliances have a vast range in usage. Maybe they can be functioned same as what major appliances can do, such as bread toasting, which look alike to oven’s function. But they also can be different in usage depend on what field they are being used. The home usage blender is mostly different with the commercial one. The commercial usage blender have to be more durable, because of it long term usage.

Major Appliances

Major appliances are all of the appliances we use them for helping our daily household works; cooking, food preserving and cleaning. It is usually large sized stuffs. Because of its size, mostly major appliances are not easy to move and fixed in some place in your home. Stoves, refrigerators, washing machines and air conditioners are some of major appliance’s examples. They are quite familiar stuffs we use every day, right?

Major appliances, is also known as white appliances (mainly in Britain). Why it called as a white one, it is because they are mostly white colored. And though we can see so many of them are in various colors now, but still the most color is white.

It is divided to classes as follows: stoves, consist of cooker and microwave oven; refrigeration, consist of refrigerator and freezer, washing equipment, consist of washing machine, dishwasher, clothes dryer and drying cabinet. And there are some unclassified equipment as air conditioner and water heater.

The term before these appliances could be thrown into the market is not easy. These major appliances have to pass the quality control test, especially for energy consumption. Due to environmental issue, major appliances are hoped to be more efficient in energy consumption.
